Can a high blood pressure cause a high heart rate?

    High blood pressure is defined as blood pressure of more than 130/80 mm Hg. A high heart rate is defined as a rate of more than 100 bpm. there may or may not be a relationship between blood pressure and heart rate.
     High blood pressure due to pheochromocytoma, a tumor of the adrenal gland is often associated with a high rate. Blood pressure in young individuals due to excess adrenaline and noradrenaline hormone also has a high rate. Blood pressure that arises due to anxiety, and stress often coexist with high heart rates. High blood pressure that accompanies heart failure, heart attack, and other medical emergencies also has a high heart rate.
    High blood pressure in elderly patients may be sometimes associated with low heart rate because of degenerative changes in heart rate-controlling areas in the heart. High blood pressure due to low thyroid hormone levels in the body can have a slow heart rate as an associated finding.
